What is Gold Filled?
A practical balance between cost and quality. Simply put, we recognize that not everyone has the budget for solid gold jewelry. Gold Filled is the best alternative to fine gold. It is a hybrid metal that is essentially a thick layer of gold “filled” with another metal, like brass or copper. It has a layer of gold that is 50-100x thicker than gold plated. Because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry has a higher durability and longevity if cared for properly.
How do I care for my Gold Filled Jewelry?
If cared for properly, gold filled jewelry will last you years to come.The better you care for it, the longer it’ll last. All Jewelry gets dirty. The oils and products from your skin transfer to the metal and will need to be washed off periodically.
Pro Tip: We recommend gently wiping off your gold filled jewelry with a soft clean cloth after wear.
Deeper Clean: For a deeper cleaning, soak your jewelry in a bowl of warm water, dish soap (mixed and bubbly), and a teaspoon of baking soda for 5-10 minutes. Use a soft bristle brush (like an old toothbrush) and scrub. Rinse well, pat dry, and air dry. Make sure your jewelry is completely dry before storing. You can also use a jewelry cleaner solution or ultrasonic machine for gold-filled jewelry.
Vermeil (Ver-May)
What is Vermeil?
Our Gold Vermeil products (some of our earring styles) use 18k gold plating that is 2.5-3.0 microns thick. Gold Vermeil is also known as “heavy gold plating.” To be called “vermeil,” the item must have sterling silver (As known as 925 silver) as the base metal. It is more expensive than flash plated and gold plated jewelry because it uses sterling silver as core material and uses a lot more gold to ensure its durability for long-lasting wear.
How do I care for my Vermeil Jewelry?
Apply any scents and lotions before you put it on. Gold plated jewelry should not to be worn when showering or exercising. Preventing it from getting wet and keeping it away from harsh chemicals, lotions and perfumes will ensure its lasting quality.

To clean, buff gently with a soft and dry 100% cotton cloth or a microfiber cloth. Do not use jewelry cleaner on gold plated jewelry.
